Perez Out Three Months

Looks like Fernando Perez will be out for the next three months with a dislocated left wrist according to Rays manager Joe Maddon.

Perez injured himself diving for a ball during the first inning of Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.

According to Maddon, the impact on the team could be felt if B.J. Upton does not start the season while coming back from shoulder surgery. Had Perez been available he would likely have started the season with the team to play center field.

Guess that makes the competititon between Ray Sadler, Justin Ruggiano and Jon Weber a bit more competitive this spring.
Could we maybe use Ben Zobrist in centerfield and maybe use his increased power and great hitting to be a plus to begin the year?
