Zobrist Just Happy to Be Part of the Mix
Ben Zobrist arrived to camp Tuesday amid speculation about which position he will play this season.
The Rays “super utility” player said he has four gloves in his locker and will be prepared to play all of the infield positions and right field. More than likely he’ll end up at second base and he’ll play some right field as well.
Zobrist said he’ll be happy wherever he plays as long as he gets his at-bats. Based on the season he put together in 2009 — .297, 27, 91 — he won’t get shortchanged on those at-bats.
