Blalock Deal Close
The Rays appear to be close to signing Hank Blalock to a Minor League deal.
When Joe Maddon was asked Monday about what was going on with the Blalock deal, he answered accordingly:
“I don’t know. I know Andrew [Friedman] is taking care of all that stuff. I anticipate that it’s going to get done relatively soon. I just don’t know exactly what’s going on. I did talk to Andrew yesterday.”
Blalock, 29, missed much of the 2007 and 2008 seasons due to injuries before returning to the Rangers in 2009 to hit .234 with 25 home runs and 66 RBIs while playing first base and DH.
