Tropicana Field is gradually filling up for tonight’s sold-out opener and there seems to be a buzz of anticipation for seeing the 2010 team, a team many experts feel is headed to the World Series.
Inside the Rays’ clubhouse, the players seemed excited, but relaxed, which can be explained by the composition of the team. They are a young but very experienced group. All of the players love Opening Day and you can go up to any one of them and hear them wax eloquently about what Opening Day means to them. As much as they love Opening Day, most of them to the man will tell you they are happy when the day passes because they can then fall into their daily routines that will carry them through the season.
About 25 minutes until Jame Shields throws his first pitch. Should be exciting.
