As a Rays fan who saw Robinson, Synder and the boys play at Ebbets Field, what came to mind seeing Fenway packed wall-to-wall in the worst weather this weekend is this: Why has the Trop been virtually empty except for Opening Day?

True, it’s a shame more fans don’t turn out, but consider this:

–Tickets cost an arms and a leg; forget paying for food and drink.
–Downtown St. Pete is a long haul from just about anywhere in the Bay area (even from Cleawater, where we live).
–Parking is a costly extra.
–The place is so big, folks who don’t see well can’t follow the damn ball!
–Almost every game is expertly presented on TV, and can be enjoyed from the comforts of home with a cold beer from the fridge.

Hate to say it, but there it is!
