Seen Today in Port Charlotte
Rays and Orioles are just finished, ending in a 3-3 tie. Yes, kissing your sister is OK in March.
Some cool things took place today.
For starters, Rays players giving Robert Andino a standing ovation when he had his first at-bat in the second inning — a fitting tribute to the man who drove in the winning run against the Red Sox on the final day of the 2011 season, which helped facilitate the Rays winning the AL Wild Card.
Hak-Ju Lee is impressive. The highly touted shortstop played all 10 innings, catching everybody’s attention when he bunted, sped down the line and finished going into the bag head-first for a single the hard way.
Ryan Reid had an impressive outing, looking composed pitching the final two innings.
Finally, Brandon Guyer made a nice play when Steve Tolleson singled to start the Orioles’ 10th and tried to stretch the hit into a double. Guyer threw a strike from left field to nail the sliding Tolleson.
